Design and Features of the MG Windsor EV

The design of the MG Windsor EV is a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and functional elements. The MG Windsor EV is powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor located at the front axle. This motor generates a respectable 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, providing a spirited driving experience. The vehicle is equipped with a 38 kWh lithium ferro-phosphate (LFP) battery, which is known for its durability and efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Windsor EV is its claimed range of 331 kilometres on a single charge. This makes it suitable for both daily commutes and longer journeys, alleviating range anxiety for potential buyers. Charging options are versatile, with the ability to charge from 0-100% using a 3.3 kW AC charger in approximately 13.8 hours, or a 50 kW DC fast charger that can achieve 80% in just 55 minutes.

Safety Features

Safety is a top priority for MG, and the Windsor EV is no exception. It comes equipped with a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes features like a 360-degree camera and electronic stability control (ESC). The vehicle also boasts six airbags as standard, ensuring peace of mind for all passengers. Other safety features include a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality.

Pricing and Market Position

With a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh, the MG Windsor EV is positioned competitively against other electric vehicles in India, such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400. The pricing strategy is aimed at making electric mobility accessible to a broader audience, especially in a market that is rapidly embracing sustainable transportation solutions.

MG Motor India is committed to expanding its EV lineup, and the Windsor EV adds to its offerings alongside the ZS EV and Comet EV. This strategic move not only strengthens MG’s presence in the electric vehicle segment but also highlights its dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction.
